A palanquin function of Shri.Trimbakraj is very spectacular in Trimbakeshwar which takes place on every Monday at afternoon. A golden mask of Lord Shri.Mahadeva having five faces is kept in Palanquin. A crown studded with Jewels which is denoted by the king of Mhaisoor is worn on the mask of Lord Shri.Shiva.The same function starts from Trimbakeshwar Temple and goes to Kushavarta Kunda to offer holy bath with alteration of incantation to the mask of Lord Shiva. The way from where Palanquin goes is adorned with rangoli.After offering a holy bath ceremonious ritual and “aarati” is performed and then palanquin of Shri.Trimbakraj returns to the temple. The same function is glorious and phenomenal one. A crown adorned with jewels is kept in “Kothi Sansthan of Trust”. Devotees can see the crown after the Palanquin function
Mahashivratri is an auspicious day when Lord Shri Shankar appeared on incarnated on the earth.So the day is celebrated as “Mahashivratri” or the origin day of Lord Shri.Shankar.”Mahashivratri” is celebrated on “Magh Vadya Chaturth” as per hindu chronology, in Trimbakeshwar and also everywhere in India. At midnight a great and pious ritual is performed of Lord Shri.Trimbakeshwar.On the same day the temple and it’s premises are adorned with lighting.
