A holy place Trimbakeshwar is one out of twelve Jyotirlingas.It is situated in chain of Sahyadri Mountain. The town is 28km far from Nasik in Maharashtra,India.Population of the town is about twelve thousand.Trimbakeshwar is at height of 2334 feet from sea level which is also famous as cool place.Shahajan of Delhi ruled on Trimbakeshwar till 1750.Then peshwas regime started to ruled on southern area.Peshawe invaded on Delhi and got one fourth of six provinces for Shahumaharaj as well obtained authoritative document of Sardeshmukh.As per this authoritative document peshawe appointed Revenue officers at different places.Narodamodar Joglekar was such type of officer who connected Trimbakeshwar to British regime Firstly Trimbakeshwar was under Moghal regim.Then British Government established “Trimbakeshwar Municipal Council” in 1854.In such a ancient place there is a source point of famous river Godavari on Bramhagiri mountain and also there is Revival Mausoleum(Sanjivan Samadhi)of Shri Nivruttinath Maharaj(an elder brother of saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj).All in all Trimbakeshwar is adorned with holy and spectacular places like Bramhgiri,Gangadwar,Nilparwat,Swami Samarth Kendra,Kushavarta tirth,Gajanan Maharaj temple etc.

Trimbakeshwar temple is famous Jyotirling temple out of twelve Jyotirligas which is situated in Nasik district. Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshawe started restoration of Trimbakeshwar temple in 1755 and the temple was shaped up in regime of Sawai Madhavroa Peshawe in 1785.The facing west temple is structured on huge ground. The height of temple is fifty-six feet & hall built in it is of 40*40 feet. The temple is built with black basalt stone. There is holy tank named “Amritkund” at southeast corner of the temple. To the east of temple there is temple Nandishwar and row of lamps too. The temple has four doors at four directions and fifth one is to the trust office side. The tradition of worshiping lord 3 times in day is Still going from Peshawe regime.

Kushavarta Tirtha exists at the centre of Trimbakeshwar town. It has great religious and mythological importance. Here, Gautam Rishi caught sight of a flow of Ganga Godavari River. Then he obstructed the flow of river with the help of blade of grass. So it is known as “Kushavarta Tirtha”.The same kund was constructed by Shrimant Holkar’s secretary Shri.Ravaji Mahadev Parnerkar.It is said that one who takes bath in same kunda(Holy Tank),he is freed from all types of sins. Great saint Shri.Namdev Maharaj says in his hymn “Jyahe Kushavarti snan/Tyache Kailasi Rahan “.It means that one who takes bath in Kushavarta Kunda,he lives in Kailas where lord Shri Shankar lives.

Bramhgiri


Bramhgiri is famous mountain and castle where there is source point of great river Godavari. It’s height is 4248 feet from the sea level. You can climb the mountain with stone steps but some where there is pathway also. There you can see a temple of Lord Shri Shankar and holy tanks named “Koti Tirtha” and “Trimbak Tirtha”.Lord Shri Shankar bumped His matted hair near udumber tree and it is the spot from where river Godavari get started.

But it is seen on Gangadwar mountain again, So is the name of spot Gangadwar.There are same spectacular spot like the temple of Goddess Shri.Kolambika Mata and caves of Shri Gorakshnath and Shri.Macchindranath.These are 750 stone steps to climb the same mountain.

Nilparwat is a hill to the north side of town Trimbakeshwar. There are 250 stone steps to climb the same and motors can also go there by road. A beautiful temple of a spontaneous Goddess Shri.Nilambika is attractive one. Goddess Shri.Matamba Devi and Lord Shri.Dattatrya temple is also on the hill.There is Dasnami arena of ascetics.

Dindori affiliated “Shri.Swami Samarth Kendra” is 2-3 km away from Trimbakeshwar. Having Guru Dattatrya tradition Shri.Annasaheb(Gurumauli) More established Shri.Swami Samartha kendra known as “Gurupith” on 1st Nov 1992.Lord Shri.Vishnu incarnated as Shri.Dattatreya to guide and welfare of human being.Shr. Annasaheb More propagated of knowledge, Culture and serving God especially Shri.Swami Samartha who is an incarnation of lord Guru Dattatreya.A huge and beautiful statue of Shri Swami Samartha is established by the same Kendra as well as statue of four Goddesses (Shri Tuljabhavani ,Shri Renukamata, Shri Mahalaxmi,Shri Saptshrungi) are established in the same Gurupitha.On the premises of the same kendra a hall for prayers,”Yadnyashala”,a hermitage(ashram)for servers and a banyan tree(Vatvrukshika) are attractive places to see.

A huge and spectacular temple of Saint Shri.Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon is built in Trimbakeshwar. A proven man saint Shri.Gajanan Maharaj appeared on 23rd Feb 1878 in Shegaon,Buldhana District,Maharashtra.Main temple or a mausoleum place is in the same town. The temple in Trimbakeswar is vividly structured like temple in Shegaon.A surrounding premises of temple is very wide. A modern lodging facilities are provided for devotees. It is situated at bank of Godavari River.Shri.Kapaleshwar Temple are best example of sculpturing caves like Seetagumpha,Pandavlenis,Chambhar leni are very attractive. Same more notable places like Falake Memorial are spectacular ones.

There are three and half “Shaktipithas“(a religious mighty places of Goddess)in Maharashtra.Godess Shri.Saptshringi is out of those Shaktipitha which is known as “Ardhashaktipitha”.In Nasik district and near to Dindori there is village named “Vani” from where Saptshrungi Garh(mountain) is nearby 10km.After that you can go to the Saptshrungi mata temple by climbing 475 stones steps.A huge and spontaneous statue of Shri.Saptshrungi mata having eighteen hands is very beautiful, sacred and blessing full.

A mausoleum place of a great modern saint Shri.Saibaba is in Shirdi.The same town is near about 118km away from Trimbakeshwar.Shri.Saibaba is an incarnation of Lord Gurudev Dattatrya.But he asked his devotees to perform worship of Lord Shri.Ram,Shri.Shankar and Hanuman.He tried to attract the attention of devotees towards God-devotion by showing same miracle events.A mausoleum temple of Dwarkamai is very spectacular where Shri.Sai Baba stayed.Shirdi trust has buit a huge Darshan hall for devotees.
